About BRAGS
BRAGS is a general interest garden club.  The Rhododendron is recognized in the name of our Society as the official flower of the City of Burnaby and is a special interest of some of our members.  Our membership includes gardeners at all levels from beginners to those with prize winning gardens that have been featured in national magazines.  If you are interested in gardening, come and join us--you won't be disappointed.

Another BRAGS Star
BRAGS Member Keith Harris has risen to the ranks of those whose gardening efforts have been recognized by publication in the news media.  Steve Whysall's column of Thursday Jan 21 features a story about Keith's skill and success with growing vegetables for more than 40 years.  Read the article in the Vancouver Sun.

Volunteering

Deer Lake United Church
The Church, which is located just opposite the Burnaby Village Museum where our meetings are held, is interested in developing a public "rest stop" garden at the street corner, with some planting, a bench, etc.  They are looking for volunteers to help with the design and development of the site, so this could be a good opportunity to express your creativity.  More information and discussion to come.

St. Michael's Centre
Friends of the Living Garden Society
St Michael's has a need for volunteer gardeners to spend a short time each month helping to maintain the Therapeutic Gardens.  Details & contact info.

TLC The Land Conservancy of BC
The restoration of the Garden presents opportunities for volunteers in a variety of gardening and maintenance jobs.  Be a part of the renewal of this outstanding historical Burnaby garden.  The regular work days for volunteers are Wednesdays and some Saturdays.

Contact Laura Ralph, Head Gardener, for more information at 604-733-2313, by email, or check out the TLC website.  The address is 5655 Sperling Ave. (at Deer Lake)
